Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Device”
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Launch “Settings”
  4. Go to “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
  5. Tap “Sleep” for timeout options and select a lower value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the device’s connectivity features when not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth” “Wi-Fi” and “Location” (GPS) quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Launch “Settings”
  4. Go to “Location” for GPS settings, then tap “Mode” and select” Battery saving”
  5. Return to “Settings” and expand “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Disable “Tethering & mobile hotspot”

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks”
  4. Access “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you can potentially improve battery life.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “Apps”
  3. Switch to “All apps” or “Downloaded”
  4. Select the desired app
  5. Tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
  6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “uninstall”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can improve battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “About phone”
  3. Tap “System updates”
  4. Check if new updates are available and if applicable, follow the prompts to download and apply the updates
