Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Personal
- Tap Backup & Reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and network passwords to your account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and network passwords to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or logging in with the backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open Settings
- Access Accounts
- Select an account type and the desired account
- Ensure Contacts is checked and tap Menu
- Tap Sync Now
NOTE: Contacts can be automatically restored the next time you log in with the backup account or by syncing the account data, and contacts, manually with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer on the phone, either when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
- On the phone, enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the computer
- Transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
- After the process ends, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
