Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Launch “Settings” and access “Display”
  4. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
  5. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Device”
  3. Tap “Battery”
  4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when not actively in use in order to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth “ “Location” and “Wi-Fi” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Launch “Settings”
  4. Go to “Location” for more GPS options and tap “menu” > “Battery saving”
  5. Return to “Settings” and expand “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Tap and disable “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot”

Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Expand “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks”
  4. Go to “Preferred network type” and select “2G”

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps you can potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings” and go to “Apps”
  2. Switch to “Downloaded” or “All apps” if needed
  3. Tap the desired app and trap “Disable” / “Force Stop”
  4. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can potentially improve battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type
  4. Tap the desired account and change the available settings to reduce sync

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for new updates:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “About phone”
  3. Tap “System updates”
  4. Check if new updates are available
  5. If applicable, follow the prompts and download and apply the update
