Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Device” and tap “Battery”
  3. Tap “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down and drag the brightness slider towards the left
  2. For more options, launch “Settings”
  3. Go to “Display” and optionally enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
  4. Tap “Sleep” for timeout duration and select a lower value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: you can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Open “Settings” and go to “Location”
  4. Tap “menu” and enable “Battery saving”
  5. Return to “Settings” and expand “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Disable “Tethering & Mobile hotspot”

Switch to 2G Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks”
  4. Tap “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change the account’s sync settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts” and select an account type
  3. Select the desired account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life and thus by removing or disabling unused third-party apps you might improve battery life.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps”
  3. Switch to “All apps” or “Downloaded”
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” or “Force Stop”
  5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can potentially improve battery life so you should keep the OS updated.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “About phone”
  3. Go to “System updates”
  4. Check if new updates are available
  5. If applicable, follow the prompts to complete the process
