Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Open Settings for more options
- Access Display
- Optionally, enable or disable Adaptive brightness
- For timeout options, tap Sleep
Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open Settings
- Go to Device
- Tap Battery > Menu
- Enable Battery saver
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the phones connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Tap the Wi-Fi Bluetooth and Location quick toggles to disable the features
- Launch Settings for more options
- Go to Location for GPS settings, tap menu and enable Battery saving
- Return to Settings
- Expand Wireless & Networks and disable Tethering & Mobile hotspot
Switch to 2G Networks:
NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Launch Settings
- Expand Wireless & Networks
- Tap Mobile networks > Preferred network type
- Enable 2G
Minimize Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the devices battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Launch Settings
- Go to Apps and switch to Downloaded or All apps
- Select the desired app
- Tap Force Stop / Disable
- Tap Uninstall to remove the app
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: You can change the accounts settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life.
- Open Settings and access Accounts
- Select an account type and account
- Change the available settings to reduce sync
Keep the OS Up To Date:
NOTE: OS updates can potentially improve battery life and thus its recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.
- Launch Settings
- Go to About phone
- Tap System updates
- Check if new updates are available
- If applicable, follow the prompts to complete the process
