Back Up Data:
- Swipe Up on the Home Screen
- Launch Settings
- Go to System and tap Backup
- Ensure Back up to Google Drive is enabled
- Tap Account and if necessary, select the desired Gmail account to use for backing up your data
- When ready, tap OK > Done
NOTE: To restore data, simply log in with your Gmail account on the phone and allow it to sync data with the device.
Back Up Media Files On a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- On the phone, enable Media sync (MTP) when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the computer storage
- Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the Android phone and PC
- Enable Media sync (MTP) on the phone at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media backup files on the PC
- Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders from where they originate
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
