Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Open Settings and access Display
- Tap Advanced > Sleep
- Select a lower timeout value
Enable Battery Optimization:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Launch Settings and tap Battery
- Tap Battery optimization
- Select an app to optimize it
- In addition, you can tap menu and enable Advanced optimization
Disable Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can turn the phones connectivity features Off when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Tap the GPS (Location) and Bluetooth quick toggles to disable the features
- Tap and hold the Wi-Fi quick toggle and set the switch OFF
- For more options, open Settings and go to Network & Internet
- Tap Hotspot & Tethering > Wi-Fi Hotspot
- Tap the switch to disable Hotspot
Uninstall Third-Party Apps:
NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phones battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. To remove third-party apps:
- Swipe up on the home screen from the bottom and open Settings
- Access Apps & Notifications
- Switch to See all apps if necessary
- Select the desired app and tap Uninstall > OK
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Swipe up from the bottom on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Access System > System update
- Tap Check for update and if applicable, follow the prompts to download and apply updates
