Enable Battery Saver:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Go to “Battery” > “Battery saver”
  4. Tap the “Battery saver” toggle ON
  5. Optionally, tap “Turn on automatically” and select a battery percentage at which the mode enables automatically
  6. Optionally, tap “App usage” to monitor the battery usage of independent apps since the last recharge
  7. You can also tap “Ambient display” and disable the wake up function for the display when receiving notifications

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down from the home screen
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. For more options, open “Settings”
  4. Go to “Display” > “Advanced”
  5. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value
  6. To disable Adaptive Brightness, open “Settings” and go to “Battery” > “Battery saver”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when not actively in use, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth” and “GPS (location)” quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. Tap and hold the “Wi-Fi” toggle and set the switch Off
  4. For more options, go to “Settings” > “Network & Internet”
  5. Tap “Hotspot & Tethering” > “Wi-Fi Hotspot” and set the switch off to disable Wi-Fi Hotspot

Remove Unused Third-Party Apps:

NOTE: Some third-party apps preform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. To remove third-party apps:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Access “Apps & Notifications”
  4. Ensure you view All Apps
  5. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Go to “System” > “System update” and tap “Check for update”
  4. If updates are available, follow the prompts to download and apply them
