Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If an app causes issues or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing it by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING! When clearing an app’s data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including save files, custom settings, login data etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the cache.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Go to “Apps & Notifications”
  4. Ensure “All apps’ is selected
  5. Tap the desired app
  6. Access “Storage” and tap “Clear cache”
  7. If clearing the app cache didn’t fix the problems, tap “Clear data” (check the Warning above)

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:

NOTE: Make sure you’ve backed up all of your data before factory resetting the phone.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “System” and tap “Reset options”
  3. To reset network settings access “Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth” then tap “Reset settings” two times
  4. To reset app settings tap “Reset app preferences” > “Reset apps”
  5. To factory reset the device, tap “Erase all data (factory reset)” > “reset phone” > “Erase everything”

Remove Apps in Safe Mode:

NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “Power”
  2. From the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. Wait for the device to reboot and you should see a “Safe Mode” watermark in the lower area of the home screen
  4. To remove an app, open “Settings” and go to “Apps & Notifications”
  5. Ensure “All apps” is selected
  6. Tap the desired app and then tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  7. To exit Safe Mode, press and hold “Power” and tap “Restart”
