Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. From the Notification shade, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Open “Settings”
  4. Go to “Display” for more options and tap “Advanced”
  5. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value

Enable Battery Optimization:

  1. On the home screen, swipe up from the bottom
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Access “Battery”
  4. Tap “Battery optimization”
  5. Select an app to optimize it
  6. Additionally you can tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth” and “GPS (Location)” quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. To disable Wi-Fi, tap and hold the toggle and set the switch OFF
  4. For Hotspot options, go to “Settings” and access “Network & Internet”
  5. Tap “Hotspot & Tethering”
  6. Tap “Wi-Fi Hotspot” and set the switch OFF

Remove Third-Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life. You might improve battery life in the long run by removing or disabling unused third-party apps.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Go to “Apps & Notifications”
  4. Switch to “See all apps” if necessary
  5. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Go to “System” and tap “System update”
  4. Tap “Check for update”
  5. Assuming that updates are available, follow the prompt to download and apply them
