Enable Battery Optimization:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Launch Settings
- Go to Battery > Battery optimization
- Select an app to optimize
- Optionally, tap Menu and enable Advanced optimization
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Drag the brightens slider towards the left in the Notification shade
- Open Settings and go to Display
- Tap Advanced > Sleep
- Select a lower timeout value
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the phones connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve the devices battery life.
- Swipe the Status bar down
- Tap the GPS (Location) and Bluetooth quick toggles to disable the features
- To disable Wi-Fi, tap and hold the toggle and tap the Wi-Fi switch OFF
- Open Settings for more options and go to Network & Internet
- Tap Hotspot & Tethering
- Tap Wi-Fi Hotspot and disable the feature
Remove Third-Party Apps:
NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the devices battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You might improve battery life by removing or disabling unused third-party apps.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Launch Settings
- Access Apps & Notifications
- If necessary, switch to See all apps
- Tap Uninstall > OK
Keep the OS Up To Date:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Open Settings
- Go to System and tap System update
- Tap Check for update
- If applicable, follow the prompts to download and install the update
