Enable Battery optimization:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Open Settings and access Battery
- Tap Battery optimization
- Select an app to optimize
- Optionally, tap Menu and enable Advanced optimization
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen
- Open Settings and access Display
- Tap Advanced > Sleep
- Select a lower timeout value
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the phones connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve the devices battery life.
- Swipe the Status bar down
- Tap the Bluetooth and GPS (Location) quick toggles to disable the features
- To disable Wi-Fi, tap and hold the Wi-Fi toggle and set the switch OFF
- Launch Settings and go to Network & Internet
- Tap Hotspot & Tethering > Wi-Fi Hotspot
- Set the switch OFF
Uninstall Third-Party Apps:
NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the devices battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You can potentially improve battery life by removing unused third-party apps.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Launch Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications and switch to See all apps
- Select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Open Settings and go to System
- Tap System update
- Tap Check for update and follow the prompts to download and apply available updates
