Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If an app causes issues or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the app’s cache or data. WARNING! When clearing an app’s data, all of your data stored within the app will be deleted, including user profiles, login information, custom settings etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.

  1. On the home screen, swipe up from the bottom
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Access “Apps & Notifications”
  4. Switch to “See all apps”
  5. Select the desired app
  6. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
  7. If clearing the app cache didn’t solve the issues, tap “Clear data” (Check the WARNING above)

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset the Device:

NOTE: Before factory resetting the phone, ensure you’ve backed up all of your data.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “System”
  3. Tap “Reset options”
  4. To reset network settings, tap “Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth”
  5. Tap “Reset” tow times
  6. To reset app settings, access “Reset app preferences” and tap “Reset apps”
  7. To factory reset the phone, tap “Erase all data (Factory Reset)” > “Reset phone”
  8. Tap “Erase Everything” to confirm

Uninstall Apps in Safe Mode:

NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from uninstalling it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
  2. In the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. Wait for the device to reboot, and once done, you should see a “Safe Mode” watermark in the lower area of the home screen
  4. Open “Settings” and go to “Apps & Notifications”
  5. Go to “All apps” if necessary and select the desired app
  6. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  7. To exit Safe Mode, reboot the device normally
