Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- From the Notification area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Open Settings and go to Display
- Tap Advanced > Sleep
- Select a lower timeout duration
Enable Battery Optimization:
- Open Settings
- Go to Battery
- Tap Battery optimization
- Select an app to optimize
- Optionally, tap Menu and enable Advanced optimization
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the phones connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Tap the Bluetooth and GPS (Location) quick toggles to disable the features
- To disable Wi-Fi, tap and hold the Wi-Fi toggle and set the switch OFF
- Open Settings and go to Network & Internet
- Tap Hotspot & Tethering > Wi-Fi Hotspot and disable the feature
Remove Third-Party Apps:
NOTE: Third-party apps can perform background processes regularly and this can potentially affect the phones battery life. You can potentially improve battery life by removing unused third-party apps.
- Open Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to See all apps
- Select the desired app and tap Uninstall > OK
Keep the OS Up To Date:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Launch Settings
- Access System > System updates
- Tap Check for updates
- Assuming new updates are available, follow the prompts to download and install them
