Enable Battery Optimization:
- Open Settings
- Access Battery > Battery optimization
- Select an app to optimize
- Optionally, you can tap Menu and turn ON Advanced optimization
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- In the Notification area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Open Settings
- Access Display > Advanced
- Tap Sleep and select a lower timeout value
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can turn the phones connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Tap the Bluetooth and GPS (Location) quick toggles to turn the features OFF
- Tap and hold the Wi-Fi toggle and set the switch OFF
- Open Settings for more options
- Access Network & Internet > Hotspot & Tethering
- Tap Wi-Fi Hotspot and disable the feature
Uninstall Third-Party Apps:
NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform background processes regularly and this can affect the devices battery life. You can potentially improve battery life by removing unused third-party apps.
- Open Settings
- Access Apps & Notifications
- Switch to See all apps and select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK to confirm
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Open Settings
- Go to System > System updates
- Tap Check for updates
- If new updates are available, follow the prompts to download and apply them
