Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If an app causes issues or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the app’s data or cache. WARNING! When clearing an app’s data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, such as custom settings, login data, user profiles etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear the app cache only.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Apps & Notifications”
  3. Switch to “See all apps” and select the desired app
  4. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
  5. If clearing the app cache didn’t solve the issue, tap “Clear data” instead (check the Warning above)

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset the device:

NOTE: Ensure you have backed up all of your data before factory resetting the phone.

  1. Open “Settings” and go to “System”
  2. Tap “Reset options”
  3. To reset network settings, go to “Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth”
  4. Tap “Reset” two times to confirm
  5. To reset app settings, go to “Reset app preferences” and tap “Reset apps”
  6. To factory reset the phone, tap “Erase all data (Factory Reset)” > “Reset phone” > “Erase everything”

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from uninstalling it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default. To boot to safe mode:

  1. Press and hold “Power” while viewing the home screen
  2. In the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. Once the phone finishes rebooting, a “safe mode” watermark should be shown in the lower area of the home screen
  4. Launch “Settings”
  5. Go to “Apps & Notifications” and switch to “See all apps”
  6. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  7. Once done, you can exit Safe Mode by rebooting the phone as you would do normally
