Clear App Cache/Data:
NOTE: if an app causes problems and takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try solving the issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including custom settings, login data, user profiles etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear the app cache ONLY.
- Launch Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to See all apps
- Select the desired app and tap Storage > Clear cache
- If clearing the cache didnt solve the issues, tap Clear data (check the WARNING above)
Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset the Phone:
NOTE: Make sure youve backed up all of your data before resetting the device, otherwise the data will be lost.
- Open Settings and go to System
- Tap Reset options
- To reset network settings, tap Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth then tap Reset two times
- To reset app settings, access Reset app preferences then tap Reset apps twice
- To factory reset the device, tap Erase all data (Factory Reset) > Reset Phone > Erase everything
Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall Apps:
NOTE: If a third-party app causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode. In this mode, third-party apps are disabled.
- Press and hold the Power button while on the home screen
- From the power management window, tap and hold Power off
- Accept when prompted to boot in Safe Mode and wait for the device to reboot. Once done, you should see a Safe Mode watermark in the lower area of the home screen
- To remove an app, first open Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications and switch to See all apps
- Tap the desired app and tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit Safe Mode, reboot the phone as you would normally do
