Enable Battery Optimization:
- Launch Settings
- Access Battery and tap Battery optimization
- Select the app you wish to optimize
- Optionally, tap Menu and enable Advanced optimization
Lower Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Drag the Status bar down form the home screen
- In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease brightness
- Open Settings and go to Display for more options
- Tap Advanced > Sleep
- Select a lower timeout value
Remove Third-Party Applications:
NOTE: Third-party apps can perform regular background processes and this can affect battery life in a negative way. By removing unused third-party apps, you can potentially improve battery life.
- Open Settings and go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to See all apps
- Select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can turn the phones connectivity features OFF when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Tap the GPS (Location) and Bluetooth quick toggles to turn the features OFF
- Tap and hold the Wi-Fi Toggle and disable the feature
- Open Settings and go to Network & Internet for more options
- Tap Hotspot & Tethering and disable Wi-Fi Hotspot
Keep the OS Up To Date:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for new updates:
- Open Settings
- Access System
- Tap System updates > Check for updates
- If updates are available, follow the prompts to download and install them
