Treo 700w Won't Work After Firmware Upgrade

I installed TREO700W_1.22-VZW on my phone and the phone no longer works. The browser still works, as well as syncing received e-mail from my Outlook account. On the Treo it says "no service".

After doing the upgrade the instructions were to dial *228 and choose option 1. Obviously I could not do this since I have no phone service. Customer support had me do a hard reset which did not work either. All the original settings seem to intact. Customer service seemed to be more interested in getting me to upgrade my phone rather than fixing my problem. Any ideas on how to fix this?
