    Customizing the Lock Screen Style

    5. When finished, tap Apply.

Hiding Your Missed Calls and Messages on the Lock Screen

Your missed calls and messages will be displayed on the lock screen, but if you don’t want them to be shown on the lock screen, you can follow the next steps to simply hide them:

    1. From the Home screen, drag down the Notifications panel.
    2. Tap Settings -> select Security.
    3. To hide the missed calls and messages on the lock screen, tap to clear the Phone notification preview and Message notification preview.

Securing Your HTC One Using Face Unlock

    1. From the Home screen, drag down the Notifications panel.
    2. Tap Settings -> tap Security -> tap Screen lock -> select Face Unlock.
    3. Then tap Set it up and follow the on-screen instructions.
    4. You can also select a backup lock just in case the HTC One doesn’t recognize you.
    5. Then tap Lock phone after and specify the idle time before the screen is locked.
Tip: You can actually train the HTC One to recognize your face in different situations (for example, when you’re wearing glasses or you have a beard), by tapping Improve face matching from the Security screen.
Tip II: If you really want to have an improved security, go to the Security screen and tap Liveness check – you’ll need to blink in order to unlock the screen.
Note: Your HTC One will need to be unlocked every time you turn it on or if it’s been idle for a certain period of time.

    Creating and a New Playlist

    1. Open the Music app.
    2. Then tap the More icon -> tap Playlists.
    3. Tap the Plus sign (+) and name your new playlist.
    4. To add songs to the playlist, tap the plus sign (+) located besides the text box -> select the desired song from your music collection and tap it to add it to the playlist.
    5. To add more songs, repeat the same process.
    6. When finished, tap Save.

Setting a Song as a Ringtone

You can set a song from your Music library as a ringtone or as a ringtone for a specific contact.

    1. Open the Music application.
    2. Then play the song you’d like to set as a ringtone.
    3. Tap the Menu icon and select Set as ringtone.
    4. Now tap Contact ringtone or Phone ringtone.
    5. For Contact ringtone, select the contact or contacts you’d like to associate with the ringtone.

    Trimming an MP3 Ringtone

Want to set only a part of the song as ringtone? You can do so with the help of the Music app’s ringtone trimmer.

    1. Open the Music app.
    2. Locate the song you’d like to set as ringtone -> then tap the Menu icon -> tap Set as ringtone -> tap Trim the ringtone.
    3. Now you have to drag the trim sliders to where you wish your ringtone to begin and end. You can make the trimming more precise by tapping the left or right arrow buttons. The trimmer markers indicate which part of the song will be set as ringtone.
    4. When you’re done, tap Set as.
    5. Select if you want the trimmed song to be set as a Phone ringtone or a Contact ringtone.
