Contact Management
Adding a New Contact:
- Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
- Launch the "People" app
- Access the "People" tab
- Tap the "+" button
- Enter the contact's name and phone number in the appropriate fields
- Select the location where you wish to save the contact, such as on the "SIM", "Phone" or "Google" account
- Tap the "Mobile" field if you wish to select a different type of phone number
- Add an email address and other optional details for the contact
- Tap "Save"
Assigning a Contact to Speed Dial:
- Launch the "People" application
- Tap "Menu" > "Speed dial"
- Tap the "Add" icon. Optionally, you can tap the "Search" field and search for the desired contact
- Under "Number", tap and select the phone number you wish to assign
- To select a speed dial number, tap the button under "Location"
- Tap "Save"
Deleting a Contact:
- Tap the "Apps" icon from the home screen
- Open the "People" app and go to the "People" tab
- Tap "Menu" > "Delete contacts"
- Select the contacts that you wish to remove
- Tap "Delete"
Importing / Exporting Contacts
Importing Contacts from the SIM Card:
- From the "People" app, go to the "People" tab
- Tap "Menu" > "Manage contacts"
- Tap "Import / Export contacts" > "Import from SIM card"
- Select the type of account for importing the contacts
- Mark the contacts that you want to import
- Tap "Save"
Exporting Contacts to the SIM Card:
- Access the "People" app
- Go to the "People" tab and press "Menu"
- Tap "Manage contacts" > "import / Export contacts"
- Tap "Export to SIM card"
- Mark the desired contacts and tap "Save"
Importing Contacts from the SD Card:
- Launch the "People" application
- Make sure you're viewing the "People" tab and tap "Menu"
- Tap "Manage contacts" > "Import / Export contacts"
- Tap "Import from SD card"
- Select the type of account, if necessary
- Select the desired backup file to import from, and tap "OK"
- If the file is password protected, enter the password and press "OK"
Exporting Contacts to the SD Card:
- Go to the "People" tab from within the "People" app
- Tap "Menu" > "Manage contacts"
- Select "Import / Export contacts" and tap "Export to SD card"
- Select an account
- To password protect the backup file, tap "Yes". Otherwise, tap "No"
- Tap "OK" to confirm
Importing Contacts from the Phone's Storage:
- From the "People" app and tab, press "Menu"
- Tap "Manage contacts" > "Import / Export contacts"
- Tap "Import from phone storage" and select an account
- Tap the vCard file that you wish to import and tap "OK"
- If the file is password protected, enter the code and tap "OK"
Exporting Contacts to the Phone's Storage:
- Press "Menu" while in the "People" app
- Tap "Manage contacts"
- Tap "Import / Export contacts" > "Export to phone storage"
- Tap either "SIM", "Phone" or "Google"
- Tap "OK" in the "Confirm export" window
Managing Caller Groups
Creating a New Caller Group:
- Launch the "People" application
- Go to the "Groups" tab
- Tap the "+" icon
- Enter the group's name and tap "Save"
Adding Contacts to an Existing Caller Group:
- From the "People" app, tap the "Groups" tab
- Press the "+" button
- Mark the contacts that you wish to add and tap "Save"
Editing Existing Caller Groups:
- Access the "Groups" tab in the "People" application
- Tap and hold a group and select "Edit group"
- Change the name of the group if desired
- To add more contacts to the group, tap "Menu" > "Add contacts to group"
- To rearrange the group members, drag the "three bar" icons associated with them
- To remove a member, mark it
- Tap "Save" when ready
NOTE: to edit the options for the groups in the "Groups" tab, tap "Menu" > "Edit group". You can rearrange and delete groups (not group members)
