Changing the Home Screen Wallpaper:
- Tap and hold an empty space on the home screen
- From the pop-up menu, select "Home screen wallpaper"
- Choose the desired location for the image:
- Tap "Computer photos" and use "HTC Get Started" to select an image from your computer
- Tap "Gallery" to select an image from your phone, crop, resize it and tap "Done"
Changing the Ringtone, Notification and Alarm Sounds:
- While on the home screen, swipe the "Status" bar down using two fingers
- Tap "Settings"
- Go to "Personalize"
- Tap "Ringtone" under "Sound"
- Select the desired ringtone and tap "Apply"
- Tap "Notification sound", select a sound file and tap "Apply"
- Tap "Alarm", choose an alarm sound and tap "Apply"
Customizing the Home Screen Launch Bar:
NOTE: The launch bar is the area at the bottom of the screen where you can put your most used applications / folders. All the icons on the launch bar can be replaced, except for the "All apps" shortcut. To customize the launch bar:
- Tap and hold an icon that you wish to remove from the launch bar
- Drag the icon and release it on top of the "trash can" icon
- Tap "Apps"
- Tap and hold a shortcut in the app drawer
- Drag the shortcut, and drop it on top of the now empty space on the launch bar
Adding Shortcuts to the Home Screen:
- From the home screen, tap and hold an empty area
- Tap "Add apps and widgets"
- Tap the button depicting a triangle pointing downwards
- Tap "Apps" or "Shortcuts"
- Locate the desired app / shortcut. You can use the "Search" function
- Once you've found it, tap and hold the app, and drag > drop it on a home screen
Creating Folders on the Launch Bar and / or Home Screen:
- Tap and hold the desired app located on the home screen or the apps drawer
- To create a folder, drag and drop the application on top of another one, located on the home screen, the app drawer or the launch bar
- Tap the folder to open it
- To edit the folder's name, tap it and type in a new name
- To add more apps in the folder, tap "+", choose the apps and tap "Done"
- To remove an app from a folder, open the folder, and drag > drop the shortcut on top of the "Trash can" icon
Adding a Widget to the Home Screen:
- Press and hold an empty space on the home screen
- Tap "Add apps and widgets"
- Tap the button depicting an "arrow down" and tap "Widgets"
- Locate the desired widget. NOTE: You can use the "Search" function
- Once you've found the widget, tap and hold it, then drag > drop it on top of the desired home screen
Changing a Widget's Settings and Size:
NOTE: Some widgets, such as the "People" widget can be changed from their settings menu, as follows:
- Press and hold the desired widget
- Drag the widget above the "Settings" icon and drop it
- Customize the widget's settings
- To resize the widget, tap and hold it form the home screen
- Once the widget's borders appear, drag them in order to resize the widget. NOTE: Not all widgets are resizable
Adding or Removing Home Screens:
NOTE: While BlinkFeed is enabled, you cannot add any home screens before the BlinkFeed screen.
- From the home screen, tap and hold an empty space
- From the pop-up window, select "manage home screen pages"
- To add a new home screen, swipe left and tap "+"
- If you wish to remove a home screen, drag it on top of the "Remove" button
- Once you're done editing, tap "Back"
Setting a Different Main Home Screen:
While BlinkFeed is the main home screen by default, you can change default main home screen to a different one other than BlinkFeed. To do so:
- Tap and hold an empty space on the home screen
- Tap "Manage home screen pages"
- Swipe the panels until you see the one that you wish to set as the main home screen
- Tap "Set as home"
- Press "Back" to exit edit mode
