Back Up App Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Swipe to Personal and tap Backup and reset
- Sign in with your Google account in order to back up your app data. If necessary, tap Backup account > Google account > Add account
- Follow the on-screen steps to create a new, or sign in with an existing Google account
- Enable Back up my data and Backup account
Back Up Contacts:
- Make sure the phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Swipe to Personal and tap Backup and reset
- Tap Backup account and choose Google account or HTC Account
- To back up your contacts over Wi-Fi daily, tap Automatic Backup
- To back up your contacts manually, tap Back up now
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Connect the HTC device to your computer using the USB cable
- Make sure the phone is connected as a disk drive or Media device (MTP)
- Open an Explorer window on the computer
- Navigate to the media files on your phone and copy them
- Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
- After the transfer is complete, click the mass storage icon in the system tray and Safely Remove Hardware
- Eject the storage and disconnect the phone from the USB
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Connect the HTC phone to your Mac via USB
- Open the file explorer on the mac and locate the media files on your device
- Copy and transfer the files on your Mac
- After the transfer is complete, drag the phones virtual drive into the Trash can / Eject icon
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB
