Clear App Cache / Data:
NOTE: If one of your third party applications doesnt work as intended, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the apps cache or data.
WARNING! Clearing an applications data will delete all personal data stored within the app, including login and credit card information, save files, high scores, profiles etc. Thus its recommended to try fixing the issues by first clearing the cache.
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Phone and tap Apps
- Access the All tab and select the desired application
- Tap Clear cache
- If necessary, tap Clear data and press OK to confirm
Reboot in Safe Mode:
NOTE: In case you have installed a third party app that causes issues and prevents you from uninstalling it, you should be able to remove the app within Safe Mode. In Safe Mode all third party apps are disabled.
- Wake up the screen
- Press and hold power
- In the Power options pop-up, tap and hold Power off
- At the Reboot to safe mode pop-up, tap Restart
- Wait for your phone to restart, and a Safe Mode label should be shown in the lower-left area of the screen
- To start removing the app, first go to Settings
- Tap Apps under Phone
- Swipe to Downloaded and select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK
- You can exit safe mode by pressing and holding Power, then tapping Restart
Wipe the Cache Partition:
NOTE: In case your device doesnt work as intended (crashes, freezes etc.) you can try fixing these issues by clearing the phones cache partition. To do this:
- First turn off the phone
- Press and hold Volume Down
- Press Power and release the key when the phone vibrates
- From the hTC download mode screen, press Volume down to highlight reboot to bootloader
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- Highlight reboot to bootloader and press Power
- In the bootloader menu, press Volume down repeatedly and highlight Boot to Recovery Mode
- Press Power
- At the black screen with an exclamation mark, hold Power, then press & release Volume Up
- From the Android system Recovery menu, press Volume down until you highlight wipe cache partition
- Press Power
- After the cache is wiped, make sure Reboot system now is highlighted
- Press Power and wait for the phone to reboot
