Back Up App Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
  4. If needed, tap “Backup account” > “Google account” > “Add account” to sign in with your Google account
  5. Turn on “Back up my data” and “Backup account”

Back Up Contacts to an HTC or Google Account:

  1. Make sure your phone is connected to the Internet
  2. Open the apps drawer
  3. Go to “Settings” and swipe to “Personal”
  4. Tap “Backup and Reset” > “Backup account”
  5. Select “HTC Account” or “Google account”
  6. Turn on “Automatic backup” to allow daily automatic backups over Wi-Fi
  7. To back up contacts manually, tap “Back up now”

Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the HTC One A9s to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Use the Explorer to navigate to and locate the media files on your phone
  5. Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the phone storage
  6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

  1. Connect the HTC device to your Mac via USB
  2. Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or from “Notifications”
  3. On the Mac, open the File Finder
  4. Locate the media files on your phone storage
  5. Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the Mac
  6. After the transfer is done, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it in to the “Trash can” to eject the storage
  7. You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
