HTC custom notifications

how can i put mp3 files into the notifications options so i can change my txt message, email etc ringer?

I was able to change my ringtones from songs I had on my computer but cant find a way for notifications.

easy!! example... when your in you sms, hit the menu and go to settings. once in there there is a option to set the notification tones.

no matter what app your in always hit menu ( while working in that app) and go to settings to change the tones.

but where do u put ur mp3 files so i can change the notification sounds. I have songs and i want them to be notification sounds
