Enabling Wi-Fi and Connecting to a Network:
- Swipe the Notification panel down from the top of the screen
- Tap the "Settings" icon
- Tap the "Wi-Fi On/Off" to enable Wi-Fi
- Press "Wi-Fi" (the text itself, not the switch)
- After the scanning is complete, a list of found networks will be displayed. (If the desired network is missing, tap the "menu" icon > "Add network" to add the network manually)
- Tap the "Wi-Fi" network that you wish to connect to. If prompted, enter the network's password
- Tap "Connect"
Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network via WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup):
Note: this method works only if you have a WPS router
- Slide the Notifications panel open
- Tap the "Settings" icon
- Make sure that Wi-Fi is enabled, and then tap "Wi-Fi" (the text itself)
- Tap the "Menu" icon and select "WPS Push"
- Press the "WPS" button on your Wi-Fi router
Disconnecting From a Wi-Fi Network:
- Open the notification panel
- Tap "Settings" > "Wi-Fi"
- At this point, you can:
- Tap the wireless network that you are connected to and select "Disconnect"
- Press and hold the network's name, and select "Forget network" if you wish to disconnect and also remove the settings for this particular network
Logging Into a Public Wi-Fi Network Automatically:
Your HTC Desire 200 is capable of automatically logging into a public Wi-Fi network that you use regularly. To do so, you need to add your login credentials to the WISPr settings (Wireless Internet Service Provider roaming)
- Open the Notification panel
- Tap "Settings" and tap "Wi-Fi"
- Tap the "menu" icon and select "Advanced"
- Under "WISPr" settings select the "Auto login" option
- Tap "WISPr account setting" and select "Add a new account"
- Select the on-screen items to enter the name of the service provider, your login name and password
- Tap the "menu" icon and press "Save"
- Enable Wi-Fi, and connect to the desired public Wi-Fi network
Note: You can add up to five sets of login credentials to the WISPr accounts list
Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network Using Enhanced Security:
Note: before being able to use this feature, you may need to install a network certificate (*.p12) on your device
- Save the certificate file to the root folder of your storage card
- Open the Notification panel
- Tap "Settings" and go to "Security"
- Select "Install from storage card"
- Select the network certificate that is needed in order to connect to the EAP-TLS network
- Enable Wi-Fi and connect to the desired network
