Sending a Text Message (SMS):
- From the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
- Select "Messages"
- Tap the "+" button to start a new message
- Tap the "To" field and type in the recipient's phone number. (You can also write the contact's name if the recipient is saved in your contacts list)
- Tap the "Add text" box and write your message.
- When ready, press the "Send" button to send, or tap "back" to save the message as a draft
Sending a Multimedia Message (MMS):
- Access the "Messages" app
- Tap the "+" icon to start a new message
- In the "To" field, enter the recipient's phone number, email address or contact name
- To add a subject line, press the "menu" icon (depicted as three vertical dots) and tap "Add subject"
- Write your message in the "Add text" box
- Tap the attach button depicting a paperclip, then browse for the file that you wish to attach. (Note: once an attachment has been added, you can tap the button depicting an arrow pointing down to replace, remove or view your attachment
- Tap "Send" when ready, or tap "back" to save the message as a draft
Creating a Slideshow in a Multimedia Message (MMS):
- Access the "Messages" app and tap the "+" icon
- Attach video, photo or audio file
- After adding your file, tap the "attach" button and tap "Slide"
- Select where you wish to insert the next slide
- Note: before adding a slide you can:
- Tap "Attach" to choose a photo or a video
- Tap "Attach" > "Audio" to add an audio file or a recording
- Tap "Add text" and enter your caption
- Tap the arrow down button to see other options
- Press the "menu" icon and tap "Preview" to playback the slide
- When ready, tap "Send" or press "back" to save the message as a draft
Resuming a Draft Message:
- Access the "Messages" app and go to the "All messages" screen
- Tap the "Menu" icon and tap "Drafts"
- Select the desired message
- Edit the details if necessary, then tap "Send"
Saving a Text Message in the "Tasks" App:
Saving a message in the "Tasks" application allows you to remind yourself when to reply to the message
- In the "Messages" app and on the "All messages" screen, select the desired contact or phone number to display the message thread
- Select the message that you wish to save, then tap "Save as task"
- Enter the desired details then tap "Save"
Replying to a Message:
- In the "All messages" screen, select the desired contact
- Tap the icon depicting a triangle pointing down, then select the desired phone number of the contact
- Type your message in the "Add text" box and tap "Send"
Forwarding a Message:
- Select the desired conversation in the "All messages" screen
- Tap a message, then select "Forward"
- Enter the desired recipient(s) in the "To" field
- Tap "Send"
Managing Message Conversations
Locking a Message:
By locking a message, you will prevent it from being deleted
- Open the "Messages" app and go to the "All messages" screen
- Tap the contact or phone number associated with the desired conversation
- Tap the message that you wish to lock
- Press "Lock message" on the options menu
Copying a Text Message to Your SIM Card:
- In the "All messages" screen, open the desired conversation thread
- Tap the desired message and select "Copy to SIM"
Deleting a Single Message:
- Select the desired conversation in the "Messages" app
- Tap the message that you wish to delete
- If the message is locked, tap "Unlock message" in the options menu
- Tap "Delete message" and confirm by pressing "OK"
Deleting Several Messages:
- Access the "Messages" app and open the desired conversation
- Tap the "Menu" icon then press "Delete"
- Tap "Delete by selection" or "Delete by phone number"
Deleting a Conversation:
- On the "All messages" screen in the "Messages" app, tap and hold a conversation
- Tap "Delete" and press "OK" to confirm
To Delete Several Conversations:
- Tap "Menu" > "Delete" in the "All messages" screen
- Select the conversation thread that you wish to delete
- Tap "Delete"
Backing Up Your Text Messages:
- While on the home screen, tap "Apps" and open "Messages"
- Tap the "Menu" icon and select "Back up / Restore SMS" > "Back up SMS"
- Type in a name for the backup file, then tap "OK"
To Restore Text Messages:
- Tap the "Menu" icon on the "Messages" app
- Tap "Back up / Restore SMS" > "Restore SMS"
- Select the desired file and tap "OK"
