Does anyone know why videos will not media stream to my Samsung DLNA capable TV from my HTC ONE? Pics in my garry will work just fine, but every time I try to stream a video, I get a 714 or 716 error code...whatever that means.

What kind of video are you trying to stream? Are they full resolution 1080p? Have you tried 720?

Re: HTC One DLNA Media Streaming

TVs can be very picky when it comes down to DLNA streaming.

Try a different resolution. If that doesn't work, then it might be the format. Not every format is supported, and it depends on the codecs, type of TV and whatnot.

In any case, as far as I'm aware, error "716" usually means that your TV doesn't really support the streaming URL, or that it can't connect to the media server. I don't know if this information can help but yeah.

As for error "714", could it be that you're trying to stream an MKV file? This error can occur, but it doesn't really mean that the TV doesn't work with MKV. It could simply mean that your TV can't stream MKV files from the HTC One.

Yeah, streaming via DLNA can be a doozy. Try different formats / resolutions etc.

Try and see if mp4 is accepted as a good format for your One and your particular TV.

If it is, then you can either convert your videos using a PC (I know, it kind of defeats the purpose), or, you can find a video converter application on the Play Store. (Of course, converting on a PC is better / faster.)

I haven't tried it, but this app might be good enough. It converts all sorts of formats to mp4. Try it by converting a sample video or something (short one at first so you won't waste time) and see if it can be streamed.

    Hope this helped.

You can use aneesoft video converter to convert your video to another video format which you want.
