    Installing HTC Sync Manager on a Computer:

    1. Open the Internet browser on your computer and go to HTC Sync Manager Overview | HTC United States
    2. Download the HTC Sync Manager installer
    3. Launch the installer and follow the instructions to complete the installation on your computer
    4. After HSM is installed, connect the Desire 820 to your PC via USB
    5. The smartphone should appear in HTC Sync Manager once connected

    Transferring Contacts from an iPhone using HSM:

    1. Connect the HTC Desire 820 and the iPhone to the computer via USB
    2. If HSM doesn't start automatically, launch it manually
    3. In HSM, click "Home" > "Transfer & Backup" > "Get Started"
    4. Launch iTunes on the computer
    5. In iTunes, back up your iPhone data
    6. In HSM, click "next" and load the backup file created in iTunes
    7. Click "OK" and select the type of content you wish to import
    8. Click "Start" to begin the process

    Copying or Deleting Files via HSM:

    1. Connect the Desire 820 to your PC via USB
    2. Open HTC Sync Manager
    3. Mark the files / folders you wish to copy or delete
    4. To copy the selected items click the "+" button
    5. To delete the files, click the "-" button

    Import PC Documents to Your Phone via HSM:

    1. Use the USB cable to connect the smartphone to your PC
    2. To switch between internal and external storage for your smartphone, click "Home" in HSM
    3. Click "Sync Settings" > "Files"
    4. Go to "Sync Settings" and click "Sync documents from the following location on this computer"
    5. Click "Add" and choose the items you wish to import to the phone
    6. Click "Refresh" and you're all done

    NOTE: To allow HSM to automatically sync data whenever you connect your HTC Desire 820 to your computer, click "Home" > "Sync Settings" > "Sync automatically whenever the phone connects"

    Import Media Files via HSM:

    1. Connect the HTC Desire 820 to your PC via USB
    2. Click "Home" > "Sync Settings" and select between external or internal storage
    3. If you wish to import audio files, click "Media" > "Settings" > "Copy all music from phone"
    4. To import videos and photos, click "Gallery" > "Settings" > "Automatically import photos and videos from phone"
    5. Click "Refresh"

    Sync Data Using HTC Sync Manager

    NOTE: Using HSM you can sync calendar events, bookmarks, contacts and various types of data between your computer and HTC Desire 820.

    On a Windows computer, HTC Sync Manager can sync data from Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Outlook 2013 or newer.

    On a Mac computer, HSM can sync data from Address Book, Apple Calendar, Google Chrome, Safari, Contacts, Apple iCal and Outlook 2011 for Mac

    Sync Data Between a Windows Machine and Phone:

    1. Establish a USB connection between your Desire and computer
    2. From HSM, click "Home" > "Sync settings"
    3. Mark the check boxes next to the files you want to sync
    4. To change the sync settings, click "Settings"
    5. Click "Refresh" to begin the syncing process

    Syncing Playlists from Windows Media Player and iTunes:

    1. Connect the Desire 820 to your PC via USB
    2. In HTC Sync Manager, click "Home"
    3. Click "Sync Settings" and select the location where the data should be synced
    4. Click "Music" > "Settings" > Sync selected playlists"
    5. Choose a playlist to sync and click "Refresh"
