Via iTunes:

NOTE: In case you have iTunes installed on your computer you can use the application to sync the contacts stored on your iPhone with a Google account. Next, you can re-sync the contacts from the account with your Desire. This method requires your computer to be connected to the Internet

  1. Launch the iTunes app on your computer
  2. Connect your iPhone to the PC via USB
  3. Once connected, the iPhone should appear in iTunes
  4. Click your iPhone and access the "Info" tab
  5. Mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box and select "Google Contacts" from the drop-down menu
  6. Sign in with your Google account or alternatively, click "Configure" and select an account from the list
  7. Click "Apply" to start the syncing process
  8. After the contacts are synced, register your Google account on the Desire 826 and allow it to sync contacts with your phone

Via iCloud:

NOTE: In case you have used the iCloud service before, your iPhone contacts should be backed up on your iCloud account. By accessing it on a computer with Internet access, you can export your contacts as a VCF file for use on an Android device. To do so:

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the Computer
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sing in with your iCloud account and access the "Contacts" section
  4. Mark the check boxes associated with the contacts you want to share
  5. Click "Settings" > "Export vCard"
  6. After the VCF file is exported to your computer, import the file to "Google Contacts" or skip this step and instead:
  7. Connect the HTC Desire 826 to your computer via USB and copy the VCF file to the phone's storage. Then, launch the "People" app, tap "Menu" > "Import / Export" and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process

Using "My Contacts Backup":

NOTE: If you are looking for methods to transfer your contacts without needing a computer, you can rely on various third party applications like "My Contacts Backup". This is an iOS app that can back up and transfer contacts via email.

  1. Go to the App Store on your iPhone and install "My Contacts Backup"
  2. Open the application and tap "Backup"
  3. After the backup file is created, tap "Email" to compose a new mail and attach the backup file to it
  4. Send the email to your Gmail address
  5. Switch to the HTC Desire 826 and open the email containing the attached vCard file
  6. Download the file on your phone storage and import it to the phonebook using the default "People" app and the "Import" function from the application's menu

Using "Send Anywhere":

NOTE: Another third party app you can use is "Send Anywhere". This is an iOS and Android application which uses a P2P connection to transfer contacts and various other types of files cross-platform, without needing a computer.

  1. Go to the Play Store and install "Send Anywhere" on your Desire 826
  2. Install the same app on the iPhone via the Apple Store
  3. Open the application on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  5. Mark the contacts you want to share and select the desired transfer method. You can tap "Generate QR Code" on the iPhone to generate a QR code which can be scanned with the Desire's camera to commence the transfer, or you can tap "Receive" on the HTC smartphone to manually enter the randomly generated transfer code from the iPhone
