Clear App Cache / Data:
NOTE: In case one of your applications doesnt work properly or takes up too much storage, you might be able to fix these issues by clearing the apps cache and / or data.
WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all of your personal information stored within the app will be deleted, including login and credit card information, profiles, saved games, settings, high scores etc. Its recommended to try fixing the issues by clearing the cache first.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Go to Phone and tap Apps
- Swipe to the All tab
- Select the desired app
- Tap Clear cache
- If necessary, tap Clear data > OK
Reboot in Safe Mode and Remove an App:
NOTE: In case you have installed a third party application that causes problems on your phone and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall it from Safe Mode. In Safe Mode all third party apps are disabled.
- With the device powered on, press and hold Power
- In the pop-up window, tap and hold Power off
- When prompted to Reboot to safe mode, tap Restart
- Once the phone finishes rebooting in safe mode, open the apps drawer and go to Settings
- Scroll to Phone and tap Apps
- Swipe to the Downloaded screen and select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK to confirm
Wipe Cache Partition:
NOTE: If your phone is unresponsive or crashes / freezes, you might be able to fix this behavior by clearing the devices cache partition. This can have a similar effect as a factory reset, without losing any personal data on the internal storage.
- Press and hold Power to turn off the phone
- With the device powered off, press and hold Volume Down
- Press and release Power while holding Volume Down
- When the device displays a black screen with red and blue lines of text, release Volume Down
- Press Volume Down repeatedly to navigate to and highlight reboot to bootloader
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- In the next menu, use Volume Down to highlight Boot to Recovery Mode
- Press Power and wait for the recovery menu to appear (it may take several minutes)
- From the Android system recovery screen, use Volume Down to highlight wipe cache partition
- Press Power
- Once the cache is wiped and reboot system now is highlighted, press Power
