Sync iPhone Contacts via iTunes:

NOTE: You can use iTunes on a computer with an active Internet connection to sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. You can then sync the account data, including contacts, with the HTC Desire 530.

  1. Open iTunes on the PC
  2. Connect the iPhone to the computer using the Lightning cable
  3. After it connects, click the iPhone in iTunes
  4. Go to the “Info” tab and enable “Sync Contacts With”
  5. Select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
  6. Sign in with your Google account and click “Configure”
  7. Select an existing account and click “Apply” to start the sync
  8. After the sync is done, switch to the HTC Desire 530, register the same Google account and allow it to sync contacts with your Android phone

Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:

NOTE: If your iPhone contacts are backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer with Internet access and export the contacts in a vCard file for Android use. To use this method:

  1. Open the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account and go to “Contacts”
  4. Select the contacts you want to share
  5. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
  6. Once the vCard has been downloaded on the computer, you can perform one of the two steps below:
    • Import the vCard to “Google Contacts”
    • Connect the HTC Desire 530 to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and use “People” to import its contents

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: Although the two methods above require access to a computer with an active Internet connection, you can also share your iPhone contacts using third party applications. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can back up and transfer contacts via email.

  1. Visit the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
  2. Open the application
  3. Tap “Backup” to create a backup file containing your contacts
  4. After the backup file has been created, tap “Email”
  5. Compose a new email and make sure the vCard is attached
  6. Send the email to your own address
  7. Switch to the HTC Desire 530, open the email and download the vCard attachment
  8. Import the vCard to your phonebook using the default “People” application

Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Another third party app you can use (for Android and iOS) is Send Anywhere. The app uses a peer-to-peer connection to transfer contacts and other types of files, cross-platform, without needing a computer.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
  2. Visit the Google Play Store and install the same app on the HTC Desire 530
  3. Launch the app on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts”
  5. Select the contacts you want to share
  6. Tap “Send”
  7. Select the desired transfer method. For example, you can tap “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone and scan the code with the Desire 530’s camera to begin the sync, or tap “Receive” on the HTC device and manually enter the transfer code generated on the iPhone
