Back Up Data to Google Drive:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to and tap Backup & reset
- Tap Backup account > HTC account
- If necessary, sign in with your HTC account, or alternatively use a Facebook or Google account
- In the Cloud Storage menu, tap Google Drive
- Tap OK and sign in with your Google account to access Drive
- Tap Back up now. Optionally, you can enable Automatic backup
NOTE: To perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi, you can go to Settings > Back up phone daily over Wi-Fi
Restore Data from Google Drive:
- Once you have rebooted your phone after a factory reset (or without being signed in with a Google account), you will be greeted with the Restore from HTC Backup screen
- Select to restored data and register the account containing the backups
- Access the history menu
- Select the desired backup and tap Next
- Sign in with your google account if necessary, and allow Drive to connect
- After the files have been restored, tap Next
Back Up & Restore Data Locally
Back up Contacts on SD Card / Storage:
- Tap Phone on the home screen
- Access the Phone tab
- Tap Menu > Manage contacts
- Tap Import / Export contacts and select to Export to SD card or Export to phone storage
- Choose an account. Optionally, to set a password for the backup file, tap Yes
- Tap OK to confirm
Restore Contacts from SD Card / Storage:
- Open People
- Go to the Phone tab and tap Menu
- Tap Manage contacts
- Select to Import / Export contacts
- Tap Import from storage or Import from SD
- If necessary, select an account
- Choose the backup file you wish to restore
- Tap OK
- If the backup file is protected by a password, enter the password and tap OK to confirm
Back Up Messages:
- Tap Messages on the home screen
- Tap menu
- Tap Backup & Restore SMS
- Tap Back up > Back up SMS
- Optionally, set a password for the backup file
- Enter the desired name for the file
- Tap OK
Back Up Messages via Email:
- Launch Messages
- Tap Menu > Back up / Restore SMS
- Tap Back up > "Back up SMS via email
- Choose whether to password protect the file
- Send the email and the attachment to your own email address
NOTE: To restore messages from an email, download the attached backup file and import it using Messages
Back Up & Restore Tasks:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Tasks
- Tap menu
- Select to Import / Export
- Tap Export to SD card
NOTE: To restore tasks, launch Tasks, tap Menu > Import / Export and select to Import from SD card. If necessary, follow the on-screen steps to complete the process.
Back Up Dictionaries:
- Access Settings
- Scroll to and tap Language & Keyboard
- Tap HTC Sense input > Personal dictionary
- Tap Menu
- Select to Back up to storage or Back up to email
- Tap OK to confirm
