Turn On Power Saver Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Power
- Tap Power saver and check the boxes next to the power saving options you want to enable
- Tap the Power saver switch to enable the option
Reduce Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Phone and tap Display & Gestures
- Tap Brightness level and if necessary, disable Automatic brightness
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease screen luminosity
- Return to Display & Gestures and tap Screen timeout
- Select a lower timeout value such as 15 seconds
Turn Off Connectivity Options:
NOTE: By disabling connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth and GPS when unused, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Tap the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switches to turn the features Off
- For more GPS options, scroll to and tap Location
- Tap Mode and enable Battery saving
- For Hotspot options, return to Settings
- Then, tap More under Wireless & Networks
- Tap Mobile network sharing and turn off Mobile Hotspot
Use 2G Temporarily:
NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you want to conserve battery life until the next recharge, you can temporarily switch to 2G networks to do so.
- Open Settings
- Tap Mobile data
- Tap Network mode
- Select GSM only
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your apps / accounts to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to and tap Accounts & Sync
- Select the desired application to disable background sync for
- To access additional sync options, you can select an account type and account
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes, and as such they affect battery life even when they are not in use. By turning off or removing unused third party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Launch the app drawer and go to Settings
- Scroll to Phone and tap Apps
- Access Downloaded
- Select the desired app and tap Disable to turn it off
- To remove the app from the phone, tap Uninstall > OK
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements, and thus its recommended to keep the phones operating system up to date at all times. To check if new updates are available:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Phone
- Tap About > Software information
- Tap Check now and, if applicable, follow the on-screen instructions to download and apply the updates
