Back Up App Data:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Tap Backup and reset under Personal
- Tap Backup account
- Select an account or tap Google Account > Add account to sign in with your account
- Enable Back up my data and Backup account
Back Up Contacts on a Google or HTC Account:
- Make sure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Tao Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Backup and reset
- Select HTC Account or Google Account
- Enable Automatic backup to allow your phone to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi
- To back up your contacts manually, tap Back up now
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC Bolt to your computer via USB
- Turn on Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone and copy them
- Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Connect the HTC Bolt to your Mac via USB
- Enable Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Finder on the Mac
- Use the Finder to locate the media files on the phone
- Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the Mac storage
- Once the transfer is complete, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the Trash can to eject it
- You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
