Sync iPhone Contacts with a Google Account via iTunes:

NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer connected to the Internet, you can sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. Then you can sync the account data, and contacts, with your Android device.

  1. Launch iTunes on the computer
  2. Establish a USB connection between the iPhone and computer
  3. Click the iPhone in iTunes and access the “Info” section
  4. Turn on “Sync Contacts With” and select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
  5. Log in with your Google account or alternatively, click “Configure” and select an existing account if applicable
  6. Click “Apply” to start the sync
  7. After the sync is complete, switch to the HTC device and sign in with the same Google account used in iTunes
  8. Allow the account to sync contacts with the HTC device

Sync Contacts from an iCloud Backup:

NOTE: In case the contacts on your iPhone are backed up on your iCloud account, you can sign in to your account on a computer connected to the Internet and export the contacts in a vCard file for Android use.

  1. Open the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Head down to https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account and access “Contacts”
  4. Select the desired contacts and click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
  5. After the vCard has been downloaded, follow one of these steps:
    • Open the Internet browser on the computer and import the vCard to “Google Contacts”, or:
    • Connect the HTC device to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage and use “People” to import it

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: While the two methods above require a computer connected to the Internet, alternatively you can share your iPhone contacts using third party apps. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up and share iPhone contacts via email.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
  2. Open the app and tap “Backup” to create a vCard file containing iPhone contacts
  3. Wait for the vCard to be done and tap “Email”
  4. Compose a new email and ensure the vCard is attached
  5. Send the email and attachment to your own address
  6. Switch to the HTC Desire 650 and open the email
  7. Download the vCard attachment and use “People” to import it to your phonebook

Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Another third party app you can use on both Android and iOS is Send Anywhere. The app uses a peer-2-peer connection to transfer contacts and other file types cross platform without requiring a computer.

  1. Visit the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Install the same app on the HTC device from the Google Play Store
  3. Open the app on both devices
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts”
  5. Select the desired contacts and tap “Send”
  6. Lastly select the desired transfer method, such as “Generate QR Code” or “Receive”, and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
