Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Power” > “Power saver”
  4. Tick the boxes associated with the options you want to enable
  5. Tap the “Power saver” switch to enable the option

Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Tap “Display & Gestures” under “Phone”
  3. Tap “brightness level”
  4. If necessary, turn “Adaptive brightness” Off
  5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side to decrease luminosity
  6. For additional options, go to “Display & Gestures” and tap “Screen timeout”
  7. Select a lower timeout value

Disable the Phone’s Connectivity Features When Unused:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features including Bluetooth, GPS, Hotspot, and Wi-Fi, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth” and “Wi-Fi” switches to disable the features
  3. For GPS options, scroll to and tap “Location”
  4. Then tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
  5. To disable Hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Tap “Mobile network sharing” and disable “Mobile Hotspot”

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: if your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery ban, you can conserve battery until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to and tap “Mobile data”
  3. Tap “Network mode”
  4. Enable “GSM only”

Minimize Third party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “Apps”
  3. Access “Downloaded” and select the desired app
  4. Tap “Disable” to turn the applications Off
  5. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your apps/accounts sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to and tap “Accounts & Sync”
  3. Select an app to disable background processes
  4. For more Sync options, select an account type and an account

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life, and as such it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Phone”
  3. Tap “About” > “System information”
  4. Tap “Check now”
  5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update. NOTE: The update process will require at least one reboot
