NOTE: You can visit this thread for a guide on how to back up app data, contacts, and media files.
Restore App Data:
- If necessary, connect the HTC phone to an active Wi-Fi network
- Go to Settings
- Access Backup and reset
- Tap Restore from HTC backup
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
Restore Contacts from an Account:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Personal
- Tap Accounts & Sync
- Sign in with the desired Google or HTC backup account
- Ensure Contacts is checked
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC
- Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin or the Media directory
- Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Mac:
- Connect the Android phone to the Mac via USB
- On the phone, enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification shade
- Launch the File Finder on the Mac and navigate to the media file backups on the computer
- Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders from where they originate
- After the transfer completes, drag the phones virtual drive form the desktop and drop it over the trash can to eject it
