Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your apps crashes, freezes, takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! By clearing an app’s data, all your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including high scores, save files, user profiles etc. If you wish to avoid losing your app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps”
  3. Select the desired app
  4. Tap “Storage”

Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your device freezes, crashes, or doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering a factory reset, alternatively you can try solving these issues by clearing the cache partition. This can lead to results similar to a factory reset without losing any personal data on the phone storage.

  1. Turn the phone off if necessary
  2. Next, press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
  3. Release “Power” when the phone vibrates
  4. From the “hTC download menu” release the volume button as well
  5. Press “Volume down” repeatedly in the menu to navigate to and highlight “Reboot to bootloader”
  6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
  7. At the “No command” screen, press and hold “Power” and “Volume Up” at the same time
  8. Release the buttons once in Android Recovery
  9. Navigate the menu using the volume keys and highlight “Wipe cache partition”
  10. Press “Power”
  11. Once the cache is wiped, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power”

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can check this thread for instructions on how to factory reset the phone instead.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:
