    Now they're getting smarter.

The wireless industry is one of the largest in the world! There are more cell phones than there are people in this world.

It makes sense...the only issue is Governor S...................... in California also proposed a tax on the wireless industry in his budget. The country gives and the state takes .

So what would this mean for the average cellphone user? Would this involve a direct tax of some kind on us as end-users, or would it be a tax on the carriers (e.g., Verizon) that would be passed on to us as their customers?

It will propose a small tax to all wireless carriers which is billed per tower. I researched this and spoke with a few "important people" on this matter.

Carriers with larger rays of coverage will be more impacted due to the more fees (since it is per tower).

Some carriers will pass on the fees, many will not. Many will do things such as raise the text messaging fee (without a text pack) to a higher rate...but leave the text packages the same price. This would make a text pack more valuable. They will do this with other services, such as data too.
