Plus if it were spring loaded opening instead of manual, it would bear a nice resemblance to the phone in the matrix
But anyway, if you are looking for a nice looking phone that probably works well too, you might wanna give the slider a look.

I had an LG VX4400 prior to just getting the Slider & I must say that I think the Slider is a better phone overall. The only drawbacks to the Slider are the following:
1. The keypad is kinda small, so if you have big, fat fingers, you may have trouble dialing numbers.
2. The Slider is dual-mode (digital only) where my VX4400 was tri-mode (digital & analog). Tri-mode comes in handy for those of you out in the sticks.
3. The speakerphone on the loudest setting sounds tinty & can hurt your ears at times. For the best setting, I found that 5 bars on the volume setting of the speakerphone works best for me. Your results will vary of course.
Other than those, I think that the Slider is an excellent phone! The call clarity is just as good as my LG & the signal strength is also equally as good. The display is also very bright & clear, much like the LG. In fact, I prefer the Slider's LCD to LG's (but they're both better than Motorola's IMO).
That's about it for my review of the Slider. I picked mine up on 8.2.04 & it cost me $100 with a $50 mail in rebate from Verizon Wireless. To me, you can't beat that for such a great product such as this!
Hope that helps!
