NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or causes other problem then you might be able to fix these issues by master resetting it.

WARNING! Master resetting your phone will result in the deletion of all personal data stored on the internal memory. This includes downloaded content, ringtones, contacts, media files and so on. Data stored on the SIM and SD cards will not be affected.

Master Reset the Kyocera Hydro Wave:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Swipe to and tap “Backup & reset”
  4. Tap “Factory data reset”
  5. Make sure “Erase SD card” is unchecked, else you will lose all data on the external storage!
  6. Tap “Reset phone”
  7. In case your device is protected by a PIN or password, enter the required security credentials and tap “Erase everything”

Check for Software Updates:

NOTE: After a fresh master reset you should check if software updates are available for your phone. To do so:

  1. Tap “Apps” from the home screen
  2. Tap “Settings”
  3. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
  4. Tap “System updates” and check if a newer software version is available. If it is, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply it
