Back Up App Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Swipe to Personal and tap Backup and reset
- Sign in with your Google account if necessary
- Enable Back up my data to back up account and app data, settings, Wi-Fi passwords etc. to your Google account
- Turn Automatic restore ON to allow app data to be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your Google backup account.
Back Up Contacts on a Google Account:
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Go to Accounts
- Sign in with your Google backup account if necessary, or select the desired account
- Ensure Contacts is enabled
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
Back Up Contacts on the SD Card:
- Open Contacts
- Tap Menu > Import / Export
- Tap Export to SD card
- Select the desired backup location and rename the file, then tap OK when ready
Back Up Media Files on the Phone:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Photos
- If this is the first time opening Photos, tap Sign in and follow the on-screen instructions. Then select to back up data over Wi-Fi only or Wi-Fi + mobile networks, and tap Turn On
- If this isnt the first time accessing Photos, tap Menu > Settings > Auto backup and set the switch ON
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Kyocera Hydro Reach to your computer via USB
- Enable Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Use the Explorer to locate the media files on your phone
- Copy the files from the phone and transfer them in the desired backup location on the HDD
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Launch the Internet browser on the Mac and visit https://www.android.com/filetransfer/
- Download the app on the Mac and open androidfiletransfer.dmg
- Drag Android File Transfer to Applications on the Mac
- Connect the Kyocera Hydro Reach to your Mac via USB
- Enable Media sync (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch Android File Transfer on the Mac
- Browse the phone storage to locate the media files, the drag > drop the files to create backups on the Mac storage
- Once done, drag the phone storage from the Macs desktop and drop it into the Trash can to eject, and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
