The Image Below Details what the Ringtones and Wallpapers Directories should approximately look like.

I would have attached the appropriate DESC files in an archive for everyone to use, but instead I offer this location. HERE

    Wallpapers

    1. Rename your Wallpaper Image to "body" with no extension. (.jpg .gif .png)

    2. In BitPim click on usr, Wallpaper, and Make subdirectory

    3. Name the directory anything you want

    4. Now add the "body" file by right clicking on the subdirectory and selecting "New File..."

    5. Now add the ".desc" file by right clicking on the subdirectory and selecting "New File..."

    Ringtones

    1. Rename your Ringtone to "body" with no extension. (.mp3 .mid)

    2. In BitPim click on usr, Ringtone, and Make subdirectory

    3. Name the directory anything you want

    4. Now add the "body" file by right clicking on the subdirectory and selecting "New File..."

    5. For a MIDI file, add the ".desc" file by right clicking on the subdirectory and selecting "New File..."

    FINISHING UP

This MUST be done in order for the phone to recognize your new media content!!!

    1. In BitPim click on download, dloadindex

    2. For Ringtones, Delete "brewRingerIndex.map"

    3. For Wallpapers, Delete "brewImageIndex.map"

    4. Reboot your phone. (Turn it off and then back on)

Any Questions, Comments, Problems, etc. I will be checking this post periodically. All information should be accurate but I may have missed something so let me know eh?

Very nice work chris. I am very, very impressed!!!!

Not many people would take the time to copy, cut and paste and then take the time again to lay it all out for all us like you did.

Major pat's on the back and at least one gold star for you! hell, here's a bunch more

Once again, very nice, and very helpful....thanks!
You are CRUNCHY, and taste good with Ketchup!!

    Couldn't help it. lol

I got the phone, a friend got the phone, the friend downloaded som ringtones and images, i copied his filesystem and compared to mine, modified a few .desc files, tested, rebooted phone... voila

I got sick of no one else bothing to figure this out so i just went and did it and that was that...

it wasn't too hard... Just have to think like a programmer... heh.. I am one.

Besides, now all can enjoy the fruits that Telus won't bear for us.

it is possible the image format of the picture is incompatible with the phone. I've only tried Jpeg files myself, not really sure about the rest.

If thats not the problem then, there may be some extra whateverImage.map files to delete. I'm not really sure.

When I rename my files to "body" I can't get rid of the ".mid" file extension when it gets to BitPim, any tips?
