I've recently purchased a new faceplate. I've removed the two bottom screws on the inside 'hood' of the phone with a Torx6 screwdriver, however I still cannot get the top faceplate off. I don't want to force it. I see that this is a common question throughout the web on different forums and such, but I've yet to see any answers to it.
Any further directions on removing this faceplate would be greatly appreciated. Thanks~ gina from Alaska

I have changed plenty of them and the easiest way is to find a really small flat head to unsnap the snaps. Start from one of the top sides then work your way around. You have to be really care because I have had a few phones which the external LCD goes out or the camera stops working. Just be really careful!

Your LG only has two screws?

Do you see the four rubber bumpers when you open your phone around your inside screen, or only two?

Most LG's have four bumper's and underneath them is four hex head screws that need to be removed. After that, do as was previously posted, find a small flat bladed item and start in one corner of the phone and gently pry the two pieces apart. It may feel like you are going to break the faceplate, but you won't.

Once you have gotten one corner seperated, gently work your way around the entire cover, and it should pop off.

Then just reverse what you did to put the new faceplate on. Just remember to switch over any and all gasket's that you find on the original faceplate. They where put there for a reason (most to prevent dust and garbage from getting into the phone, and also to prevent vibration).
You are CRUNCHY, and taste good with Ketchup!!

yes, there are only two screws...

I would think that there might be four, too, since it won't come off easily. But, no, there are just two. I think that prying it carefully off might work, judging by what the new faceplate looks like underneath. BTW, on the new faceplate, there are only two female 'screw connectors', so having only two screws to take out must be correct.
I just haven't tried it yet----have had kids home all day and just haven't had the time to sit down quietly to do it. (spring break...) ;-) I'll let you all know if it worked. :-) thanks for the posts!

Success!! ---After removing the two screws, I then, very CAREFULLY, with a very small flathead screwdriver, pried the top faceplate off, starting at the top and slowly working my way around to the bottom on both sides. Then, I removed any felt or protective materials (to keep out dust, etc.) from the old faceplate, placed them on the new faceplate and then just re-attached the new faceplate to the phone in the same manner, screwing in the two screws last with the Torx6 screwdriver. With these directions, I was able to change both my husband's and my phones tonight. :-) Yay! Thanks, Chris and Bossdragon! Trust me---many are looking for these same directions. At least now, perhaps they'll find them here. (and clear ones, too.) lol~ Thanks again!!
