I just got rid of my crappy "Q" and in it's place got the lg vx8600!!!! I want to customize it and I was wondering if I get a usb for it can I download pictures and stuff to it from my computer? With the q all I would do was email them to myself.

Also, I don't have the data plan anymore so can I download games and stuff to my computer and then transfer them to my phone?

    Thanks for any help.

Verizon has eliminated the feature that allows a user to connect their phone to their PC or laptop and move images and ringtones back and forth. The only way to get your own wallpapers and ringtones on your phone is through Pix Messaging. You will not be able to put your own games on the phone.

Thanks for the help. For the pix messaging, is that texting the pics to myself?

This is not true. You can get a Data Cable and Bitpim and transfer all the ringtones and images to your hearts content.

You are correct, but I don't often recommend this technique, as it can void your phone's warranty if you are not careful. Personally, I use BitPim with my Chocolate, and I am very careful not to mess around with anything but the ringtones and images folders.

and for the VX8600 the same data cable from the 8500 should be compatible. Ebayers sharpening their prices for any cables specifically mentioning the 'VX8600' by a $5 premium, however those cables suited to the 8500 are compatible!

    care to confirm

You are correct. Both the Chocolate and the VX8600 have the same charging/connection port.
