My original LG VX9800 cell phone broke so I paid $50 and got it replaced from Asurion insurance company. Well the VX9800 arrived today and I was a little suprised that the new VX9800 I got didnt look like my old one, not different as in how its shaped but different as in it doesnt say LG on the inside right speaker, the volume control is silver (not clear with black underneath) it doesnt say LG on the top front screen, the battery is plain silver with no words on it at all and also is made by "everwin" I also noticed the new batteries specs being 1000mah and not 1300mah like my original battery. Is that a good thing of bad?
Is this normal? or should I ask for a orignal phone replacment?

Anyone? Why is this phone blank? should I send it back and ask for another one? Should I get the 9900?

No input at all? Should I just activate the phone and be done with it?

You really don't have much choice. That is the phone that Asurion replaced your damaged or defective phone with. It is the same phone, LG VX9800, but it is refurbished, which is why it looks a little different.

I was reading this post and just had to respond. I used to do work for Asurion before, every single phone that a customer gets back from Asurion is pretty much junk. Most of the phones at one time or another were recycled liquid damage phones with aftermarket parts! After that they dont even have a procedure to properly check the RF side of the phone but only do a 1234 test call, WOW! and they turn around and charge the customer an arm and a leg for monthly fees and replacement cost!.......Im done with my rant!

I don't use the insurance just so I don't get stuck in the middle of my contract without a phone. I mean I have a whole box full of phones to replace a damaged /lost one with if I had to, but I payed alot to have the "coolest" most current phone because they are fun to show off, right? I am not about to walk around flaunting my No labeled multicolored POS.
I would sooner foot the bill and buy a new one than use the insult of a replacement they sent you.
Thanks again for this information ,

Remember to always weigh the cost/benefits of getting the insurance on your new phone. For argument's sake, you just bought a brand new Strawberry Chocolate online for $99.99 (the current promotional price). You pay $4.99 per month for insurance. After 10 months, your phone goes swimming in the lake while you are on vacation. You are not eligible for an upgrade and it is obviously not covered by the manufacturer's warranty. So, you file an insurance claim. 10 months at $5.00, plus $50.00 deductible = replacement phone for $100.00 total. New phone cost: $269.99 full retail (maybe you can get lucky and take advantage of the 25% discount for signing a new 2 year contract). Now tell me that the insurance is not a good deal!

Asurion sucks, the only way to come up on a nice phone is if they are all out of the older model and you get a brand new version. I sent back in my referbihed 9800 and asked for the 9900 and after just three weeks I got what I wanted.
