Well i got my Venus for christmas, and so far i love it. I went with it instead of the Voyager due to size, price, and looks. Other reasons also influenced this.

Anyway, I am asking what the rest of you Venus owners are using as your wallpaper??? I have a decent one, its built-in, i want to make my own, but i''m having trouble finding one that fits both the screens decently. Maybe someone could get me the proper resolution, maybe someone could post their wallpaper. Mine is the link below, but i want to be able to change to something cool if i want to.

I love to use Interfacelift for alot of my wallpaper needs. So maybe someone has adapted a few for the venus?

    Here is my wallpaper-

    Your screen is 240 x 320.
Resize/crop your pics with MS Paint or MS Office Picture manager, or whatever.

Ahh, i tried it and it was only good for the top screen. I like how it looks, but it would be nice to get the size of the bottom screen too.

I looked around and cant find it.

    Re: Lg Venus Wallpaper

    I have figured it out.
    1) Your pic should be 496(height)X240(width)
    2) Transfer to your phone
    3) Go to get it now
    4) Choose Picture & Video
    5) Choose My Pictures
    6) Move arrows to the picture desired
    7) Choose Options
    8) Choose Set As
    9) Choose Set As Wallpaper
    10) This is where you see the photo show up on the bottom screen where the arrows, zoom in, zoom out, rotate, and back button are. If your pic is the right size all you will have to do is choose save. If the pic isn't the right size you may have to zoom in and move the image around to view the parts you want.

    Hope this helps.

By the way I use BitPim to transfer my images to my phone.(It's Free)

    Re: Lg Venus Wallpaper

I had the same problem, I knew that the Venus would display a wallpaper on both screens but I didn't know how to crop it so. So I loaded a picture onto my phone with the height resolutions of both screens added together(240x496) and it worked pretty good. The only problem I had with it though was that the picture doesn't continue where it should continue on the bottom screen, it just cuts and pastes the bottom part of the picture down there. I wanted wallpapers that looked good and as if it was a solid image. The only thing is that screen seperater on the phone. I did some mathematics or something and opened photoshop as well as a few blank projects. Instead of going by screen resolution and entering in those numbers into photoshop, I got out the old ruler and measured the screens in inches and entered those numbers. In case you're wondering: top screen - W 1.25 x H 1.72, bottom screen - W 1.25 x H 1.12. I made a project for each screen, one for the size of both screens with seperater(W 1.25 x H 2.98), and one for the combined screens without seperater(W 1.25 x H 2.67). And yes, those aren't the exact sizes of the screens, I had to fiddle with it a bit to get the sizes right and this is what I came up with. It is best to save these blank templates the way they are so you don't have to do this again.

With all the blank screen templates open, open your desired background image. If what you want out of the image is the perfect size, you should be able to select all in the top screen template, drag it over to your pic and see how it would look on the screen itself. If anything is hanging over the selected area, you're going to have to resize the picture. This can be tricky. Let's say you have a picture of a loved one you are using and they are directly in the middle of the photo. Let's also say the image is 6 x 8 and the loved one is approximately 2 inches in width. You're going to have to cut the size in half, go to Image, Image Size, constrain proportions, make sure the increment is set to inches not pixels, and type 3 for the width. Now, every time you cut an image size in half you have to double the resolution. So if the resolution was 100 pixels/inch, you would change it to 200 pixels/inch. After you have resized the image you have to change the resolution of each template to match the image. Now your image should be a good enough size to begin creating the wallpaper.

Take the template of both screens including seperater, select all, drag to the image, place accordingly, and click Image, crop and it should get rid of everything you don't want. Before you continue, make sure Snap is checked under the View menu. Select all on the top screen template and drag it over to the cropped image, it should snap into place at the top when you move it around a bit. Copy and paste this into the combined screens without seperater template and position it correctly. Do the exact same with the bottom screen template, but when you paste it into the combined screen template, make sure the top of the bottom screen image snaps into the bottom of the top screen image. You don't want the bottom screen image to overlap the top screen image. It looks a little weird at first, but that's it.

Now with the combined image as the selected project, click File, Save As..., select JPG as the file type, and name it. I've been using a website called 3guppies.com to upload all my photos and ringtones to my phone, it's free and easy, just a little slow for Verizon users. It is amazing for ringtones though, MP3 quality ringtones and you don't go through PIX Place at all. If you need any help on this or ringtones let me know. I just got this phone 3 days ago and I love it!

    Re: Lg Venus Wallpaper

Here is a website that carries a lot of wallpapers in the correct size for the one screen on the Venus. I stumbled across this one while looking for wallpapers. They also have animated wallpapers. I can't submit links yet but you can google Mobilepark. It doesn't have the standard ".com" address but ends in ".eu" if your looking for the right one

Another good site, and hopefully this is not taboo to post about another forum, but I found some good material at Howardforums. Moderators please feel free to delete this last portion if it is not allowed.

    Re: Lg Venus Wallpaper

I'm not sure if anyone has answered this last question about ringtones or not, and I am new to the forum.

I have found that you must save as a sound or ringtone when receiving them through text messages. If you have a sound that you want as a ring tone, I have found that the easiest way is to send the sound to yourself as a text and save as a ring tone. Or save the sound on your computer and connect through the usb cord and just transfer the sound to your phone, but this will still save as a sound not a ring tone. You will still have to text yourself and save as a ring tone.

Again, sorry if this has been answered, I looked around to see if it had been answered or not, but am new and was not exactly sure what I was looking for.
