Notification icons report the arrival of new messages, alarms, calendar events and ongoing events. Whenever you receive a notification, you will see a notification icon displayed in the Status Bar. You can open the Notification Panel to view a list of all recent notification. To open the panel you have to:

1. Simply Tap and Drag the status bar to the bottom of the screen.
2. Now tap a notification to open it.

To Respond to a Notification

1. Open the Notification panel. You will see all your current notifications together with a brief description.
2. Tap a notification to open and view it.
3. The notification panel will now close and will open the corresponding application. For example, Gmail notifications will open your Gmail application to enable you to read your new messages.

To Clear All Notifications

1. Open the Notification panel.
2. Now tap on the Clear icon that appears as an X. All of your event based notifications will be cleared, however your ongoing notifications will remain on the list.

To Close the Notification panel

You simply need to drag the tab that from the bottom of the notification panel to the top of the screen, or tap on the Back key.

Quick Settings

The top of the Notification panel has Quick Settings, which will allow you to quickly and easily set modes, such as Sound, GPS, Bluetooth, Airplane and Data. You can tap Edit to open a dialog box that will enable you to customize the Quick Settings. You can check the icons that you want to appear on the panel. After you set up your quick settings, you can tap on any of them to toggle through the settings available.

To Set a Text Notification Alert

1. On the home screen, tap Messaging.
2. Now press the Menu key located in the bottom left side of the screen.
3. Tap Settings.
4. Tap Notifications, under the Notification settings.
5. Tap Notification sound.
6. Select the desired notification sound and tap OK.

Attach a Video to a Text Message

1. On the home screen, tap Messaging.
2. Tap the + sign at the top of the screen to start a new message.
3. Enter a contact name in the To field and compose your text.
4. Tap the Paper clip icon to attach a file.
5. Tap Video.
6. Open a Gallery and select the video that you want to attach to the message.
7. Now tap Send MMS.
8. If you receive a prompt message saying the resolution of the video is too high, adjust the resolution settings of the video.

Change your Ringtone

1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Go to Sound.
4. Tap Phone ringtone. Bear in mind that in order to change the ringtone, your phone must not be in Silent Mode.
5. Choose the desired ringtone.
6. Tap OK to save.
